Updates on Victorian Firefighter Recruitment for November 2019
So Victorian Firefighter recruitment will start in November 2019 to fill the recruitment pool for the coming year.
The biggest change to the recruitment process in around twenty years is that the fire service tests that are being used by MFB Acer and CFA Psi are changing.
This is a big deal for those of you hoping to be selected, particularly if you have been through the old types of testing. It is a sign of the Victorian fire service recruiting model moving into the modern age.
My gut feel is that FRV (Fire Rescue Victoria) will probably use “Pearson” also known as “Talentlens” or formally “Pearson Clinical and Talent Assessment – Pearson Australia”
However, that’s just a guess at this point. Pearson specialises in Clinical and Talent Assessment. They are one of the world’s largest commercial developers and distributors of psychological testing materials for use in assessing intelligence, memory, academic achievement, work aptitude, and personality. This means they can provide a more holistic overview to the services. They can also administer tests through a proctor which basically eliminates cheating.
