WA firefighter recruitment 2015 – Recruitment Update
WA firefighter recruitment
Brent C from firerecruitmentaustralia.com with a fire fighter recruitment update for Australia, July 2015. What we’ve got this month is the Western Australian Fire Service Recruiting for Fire Fighters or the DFES as they are also known.
WA firefighter recruitment 2015 will start on the 17th, Friday the 17th, so if you’re looking at getting your application in to the DFES, have a look at on their website on Friday the 17th and that’ll be closing at the end of the month.
Don’t miss out on this one because it’s a short window of opportunity to get your application in.
I’ll just quickly run you through the process and some things to look out for. First up, you’ve got the online application, which is short-listed, so make sure you put your time and effort, read the instructions, and get this bit right because you don’t want to be one of the guys that’s knocked out on the first hurdle.
The second test you’ll face is the psychometric profiling and aptitude test. Now, this is the big one. This is where most people get knocked out. If you don’t want to be one of those guys or you need a bit of work on this need one, let me know via e-mail and I’ll see how I can help you.
The third test that you’ll face will the physical side of things. The physical aptitude test as well as your Beep test. That’s like your hose drag, your container haul, that type of thing. There’s more information on the website and my blog, so go on and have a look at that. If you think you’re a little bit off the mark, I’d really be getting on to this one straight away, so that you can be confident on test day when it comes up.
The fourth component to the application for the Western Australian Fire Service is the interview. Now, this is extremely important and you want to get your best stuff across to the panel as it’s very competitive. If you need a hand with this, let me know and I’ll see what I can do to help you out.
Then the final lot lot of tests are the work capacity tests, so that’s to make sure you can get in and out of the truck, lift rescue gear, open tall boxes, open lockers, and stuff like that. Unless you’ve got something wrong with you, you shouldn’t have any issues with this.
Then you’ll go on for driving validation. There’s a blog on my website about this, so I’d go and have a look at that if I were you. This is a test where they look at your knowledge of road rules and how you drive basically. It’s a practical test and something you need to be aware of because you don’t want to get caught up on that one. Then you’ll have a medical and then it all gets assessed and hopefully you get an offer. I hope this update has been helpful for you. If you need any help, let me know.
