Recruitment Updates: End of Year 2019/2020

AU NZ FIREFIGHTER RECRUITMENT 2019 2020

Hey guys! Brent C here from firerecruitmentaustralia.com with some recruitment updates.

It’s been a hectic couple of days here in VIC so the videos and info I planned to share with you a few days ago just piled up. A lot of you probably saw them already. However, I’m posting them all here so it will be available to everyone regardless if they’re members or not.

QFES OFAT 2019/2020

So, we’ve had some new developments with QFES OFAT. I made a three-videos series for you. Here below is the first one.

OFAT QFES 2019 2020

Keep your momentum, keep the hose off the ground for as long as you can and keep your chin up for the long haul! 90 meters is no joke. It would be beneficial to add a couple more pounds to your practice drag or work at least with 100 lbs. to get accustomed to the feel of dragging such a heavy weight.

OFAT QFES 2019 2020 ATTIRE

Perhaps, one of the most overlooked things that help during the Physical Exam is the attire. One must wear the prescribed shoes and outfit, however, there’s no restriction against being smart about it. Wear comfortable workout shoes that have a bit of traction and clothes with non-slip elbows.

Performing in rough and straight terrain is easy but it doesn’t always follow for grassy and smooth surfaces. Getting a bit of help with traction might shave off a couple of seconds allowing you to make that pass mark.

VIC Aptitude Exam 2019/2020

Pearson | VUE has recently released information regarding the VIC exams on their website. There are 4 categories in the exam ( namely, Abstract, Numerical, Verbal, and Mechanical). Each exam has 25 items to be completed in 20 minutes. Booking for exam slots start on 2nd December 2019 and will end after 5 days. All exams must be completed before 18 December 2019. Hundreds of similar practice exams can be found in Fire Recruitment Australia’s own Aptitude Site.

SAMFS Recruitment Updates 2020

Great news! SAMFS will open their recruitment mid-year 2020 and they are looking to fill 50 positions! This is going to be one of the biggest campaigns they’ve had in a while and it is expected to grow even more in the coming years to hopefully, around 70 posts per intake. For now, they’re still going to use SafeSelect as their exam provider and Cognify is still part of the picture as well.

FRNZ Opens Early 2020

NZ NEW ZEALAND FIREFIGHTER RECRUITMENT 2020

As grabbed from their website, FRNZ is set to recruit this coming February 2020. Unless there are going to be changes, SafeSelect would still be their exam provider. As it is one of the most challenging exams out there, it would be best to start your preparations ASAP. Feel free to reach out to Fire Recruitment Australia if you need help at any stage of the application.

That’s it for our catch-up on recruitment updates just before the year ends. Hope you found them helpful. For the most recent updates on fire services in Australia and New Zealand, watch this space.

Cheers,
Brent
